Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
What is the upper child-weight limit for the documented FFH99 swing arrangement?
The model-specific manual sets a 25 lb maximum; stop earlier if the infant attempts to climb out, and use the full-recline and head-control rule for young infants.
Explore this need in the finder →Can an FFH99 be shortlisted when phone-app control is essential?
No. Smart Connect was originally advertised, but Mattel's exact technical page carries a past support-end notice and its standard page has conflicting legacy wording/date; current app operation is not established, so the matcher does not count FFH99 for a phone-app requirement.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the FFH99 swing operate without a wall outlet, and what can be washed?
The manual requires a supplied AC adapter and documents no battery swing plan. The removable pad is machine washable under the stated cold-water/mild-detergent instructions; the other named parts are wipe-clean.

This is a source-based assessment, not a hands-on test or confirmation of any current offer. Mattel’s U.S. support page identifies FFH99 as a 2018 Starlight Revolve Swing with Smart Connect and links a model-numbered instruction sheet. The model belongs in an earlier-model comparison, but a support record does not establish a present retail SKU, a complete secondhand package, or the condition of a particular unit. On an older listing, check the frame label for FFH99 and read the exact FFH99 instructions, rather than relying on the similar FPM64 or FPM68 name.
Combined motion, with no promised adjustment path
Mattel describes head-to-toe, circular and swinging motion together, and the product imagery shows an infant seat suspended in a compact-looking frame beneath a mobile. That combination is a meaningful distinction from a basic single-direction swing. It supports treating this as powered multi-direction motion for a shortlist, not as a claim that a caregiver can select every direction independently. The FFH99 manual does not specify a set of selectable motion axes or a swept clearance zone. “Space-saving” is also not a usable measurement: the reviewed FFH99 sources publish no body width, depth, height, folded size or moving-seat envelope.
The listed entertainment package includes a motorized mobile, mirror, three star toys and a starlight projection, as well as six swing speeds, 16 songs, nature sounds and white noise. Those details explain the product’s original connected-sensory pitch; they do not prove what a used offer contains. Inspect the exact mobile, canopy, seat pad, newborn head support, restraint, base and adapter before treating an individual unit as complete. Mattel warns that features and decorations can vary from manual illustrations.
Smart Connect is the decisive caveat
The sales description originally advertised phone-app control for movement, lights and audio. The exact FFH99 technical-support record now carries a Smart Connect discontinuation notice with a February 2022 planned support-end date. The standard support page has a separate, apparently generic notice that calls the product “Smart Cycle” and gives July 2022. Those legacy notices disagree in wording and date; neither supports a promise of current app installation, device compatibility or service. The manual also says some functions operate only through the Smart Connect app. If app control is essential, FFH99 is not a suitable documented match. Do not buy on the assumption that an old app store listing or a phone that once paired will continue to work.
There is still useful local operation documented in the manual: the frame’s panel has power and six-speed controls, and buttons for music/sounds, volume and the mobile’s star-light show. The manual says music and sounds stop after about 30 minutes, but the swing motion and light show have no automatic timeout, so power must be switched off when the seat is not being used. The app sunset therefore matters even for a household that likes the feature set: some originally advertised adjustments may be inaccessible, while the manual’s physical controls cover only the actions it explicitly shows.
Outlet-only power and a narrow care claim
FFH99’s swing requires its supplied AC adapter: the manual specifies 100–240 V AC input and 12 V DC output, and instructs caregivers to use a wall outlet, not an extension cord or ceiling outlet. No battery-powered swing arrangement is documented. For a used unit, check that the correct manufacturer-approved adapter is present and undamaged; do not infer compatibility from another swing’s plug. Keep the cord away from the child, use the swing away from water and heat, and unplug the adapter before cleaning.
The removable seat pad is machine washable in cold water with mild detergent, without bleach, then tumble-dried on low and removed promptly. That instruction does not apply to the whole seat: Mattel directs caregivers to wipe the seat, restraint, frame, canopy and mobile with a damp cloth and mild cleaner, then rinse away residue. If the listing only says “machine washable,” confirm it is the pad and not a claim about every soft component.
Use limits outrank the feature list
The manual sets a 25 lb maximum and says to stop earlier if the infant attempts to climb out; its approximately nine-month reference is not a guaranteed duration. It gives no numerical minimum weight. For an infant under four months, the seat must remain fully reclined until the child is both at least four months old and able to hold their head up without help. Always use the restraint and stay nearby; the product is not for unsupervised use or prolonged sleep. If a baby falls asleep, move them to a firm, flat sleep surface. Follow the actual manual and labels for the exact unit, and discontinue use for damaged, missing or unapproved parts.
Who should consider an FFH99 offer?
The strongest case is a household comparing an exact, complete older unit that has an outlet nearby, wants the documented blended motion and washable pad, and is comfortable operating without a supported app. The 25 lb ceiling is not a toddler-use rating, and newborn support does not relax the recline, head-control, restraint or supervision rules. A buyer who needs battery mobility, phone-app control, numeric room-fit confirmation, or a verified current package should choose an option whose exact documents establish those needs instead. FPM64 and FPM68 are separate model-numbered Starlight Revolve entries with their own support pages and images; shared instructions do not make their offers interchangeable. Check current Mattel and CPSC safety notices for the specific FFH99 before any used purchase, because this research does not clear a serial number, date code or unit history.
