Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
What changes when the DuetConnect seat is removed from its swing frame?
The powered swing has a 30 lb ceiling and must stop sooner if the infant tries to climb out. Detached, the seat is a floor-only manual bouncer/carrier with its own 18 lb or 30 in maximum and stop when the baby starts trying to sit up. The manual permits carrying only by the handles with the restraint secured, but never using it in a vehicle or on a shopping cart; follow the exact warnings.

The manual says to use the most reclined position for newborn and young babies and keep the swing fully reclined until the child is at least four months old and can hold their head without help. It lists AC-adapter or five D-cell swing operation; those cells are not established as included. The separate bouncer’s one-D-cell vibration feature is not a battery-powered swing mode.
Explore this need in the finder →Will the DuetConnect seat fit a machine-wash routine or multi-direction requirement?
Graco says to follow the seat-pad care tag, so machine washability is not established. Its official Q&A says the seat is not multi-directional; the reviewed sources do not establish a particular axis. Six speeds and the detached manual bouncer do not change those two evidence limits.

Graco lists 34 in wide, 33 in deep and 43 in high, weighing 21.8 lb. These are body measurements, not the clearance area for a moving seat. Plan a floor-level footprint and cord route; the detachable bouncer does not fold the swing frame or shrink its operating space.

The Graco DuetConnect LX pairs a powered swing frame with a seat that detaches for use as a manual bouncer. The official Redmond model page lists six swing speeds, two vibration settings, music and soothing sounds, a mobile, a five-point harness and a choice of outlet or battery operation. The key distinction is that the same-looking seat does not keep the same use limits in both configurations. The frame-mounted swing is listed to 30 pounds; the removed floor bouncer has its own 18-pound and 30-inch ceilings and an earlier developmental stop.
Powered swing and detached bouncer are separate plans
In swing mode, the exact manual describes a motorized six-speed arrangement using an AC adapter connection or five D cells. A separate D cell powers the bouncer’s optional vibration feature; it does not make the detached seat a battery-powered swing. The product has physical controls, but phone-app and voice-assistant controls are not documented. Graco’s exact product-page Q&A says the seat is not multi-directional. Because the available sources do not identify its particular swing axis, this assessment treats the motion axis as unspecified rather than assuming a single direction.
For swing mode, Graco lists a 30-pound maximum and a stop when the infant attempts to climb out, with roughly nine months given as a reference. The manual says to use the most reclined position for newborn and young babies, and keep the seat fully reclined until the baby is at least four months old and can hold their head without help. The infant must stay restrained and supervised. If the baby falls asleep, the manual directs caregivers to move them to a firm, flat sleep surface; the swing is not for sleep or unattended use.
When detached, the seat is a floor-only manual bouncer and carrier. Its maximum is 18 pounds or 30 inches, and use must stop when the baby starts trying to sit up or reaches either maximum, whichever happens first. The manual permits carrying the secured child by the seat’s handles, but does not permit using it in a vehicle or on a shopping cart; it must not be placed on a bed, sofa, cushion or elevated surface. The newborn positioning statement applies to swing mode, not automatically to the detached bouncer, whose from-birth status is left unknown here.
Space, cleaning and setup checks
Graco lists the assembled body at 34 inches wide, 33 inches deep and 43 inches high, with a 21.8-pound product weight. This is a large floor-standing arrangement, not a compact travel frame. The product dimensions do not describe the moving seat’s clearance area or a safe cord route. Measure the planned open area and keep the product on a firm level floor, away from water, raised surfaces and reachable cords. The removable seat does not make the entire swing frame portable.
The manual and product page direct the owner to the seat-pad care tag rather than stating a general machine-wash procedure. Removable textiles are not automatically machine washable, so this review does not count the model for a must-have machine-washable cover. Graco’s frame instruction is household soap and warm water only, without bleach or detergent. Check the exact tag for the offered finish and any replacement fabric.
Before using an individual unit, verify that the Redmond model label is 2160534 and that the right manual, frame parts, detachable bouncer, restraint, head/body support, toy bar and approved power connection are present and undamaged. Five D cells are needed for battery operation of the swing; the sources do not establish whether batteries are included. The separate vibration battery is an additional requirement only if that feature is used. Review current recall information by model and date code; a targeted search did not show a matching CPSC record but cannot clear a particular used unit.
Redmond and Ari identities remain distinct
Graco’s exact Ari page identifies model 2216139 and repeats the DuetConnect LX name, plug-or-battery language, six speeds, detachable bouncer, 30/18-pound mode limits, and 34-by-33-by-43-inch dimensions. It also lists the same 21.8-pound product weight and care-tag boundary. These matching function and specification details support covering Ari as a same-function finish variant, while retaining its 2216139 identity. The image on this page depicts Redmond model 2160534, not Ari, so it is not a photograph of every covered finish.
This model is most useful to compare if a full-size outlet-or-battery swing plus a separate floor bouncer would both serve the household. It is not a multi-direction swing, the bouncer has a lower ceiling than the frame mode, the cover’s wash method is not established, and its body measurements leave clearance unaddressed. This is an evidence-based reading of Graco’s page and manual, not a hands-on test or promise of comfort. Follow the current exact-model instructions, the sewn care tag and all stop-use rules.
