Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can the Miso powered swing operate from a wall outlet or from batteries?
Joie includes an AC adapter and documents a separate battery-powered swing arrangement requiring four D alkaline cells that are not included. The detached rocker has a different one-D-cell vibration feature; that is not a battery-powered swing plan.

The swing's listed range is birth to 25 lb and 30 in, with a stop at the first of the weight, height or climb-out limit. The rocker is limited to birth to 20 lb and 27 in and must stop when the child begins trying to sit up. Do not apply the swing's 25 lb number to the rocker.

No. Joie's product page says the infant support is machine-washable; the U.S. manual directs the owner to the tags for the seat pad and infant insert, but does not publish a machine-wash method for the full seat pad. Check the exact care tag rather than assuming the support claim covers every textile.
Explore this need in the finder →A powered swing plus a separate rocker
This research-based assessment covers Joie's U.S. miso™ 2-in-1 swing and rocker, model W1306AF. It is not a hands-on review. The swing has powered motion and an on-unit control panel; its seat also detaches into a manual rocker. Treat those as separate operating plans. The official page's selected image shows Walnut, but the page text does not identify a finish-specific SKU. Check the model label, color and exact included pieces on the offer rather than assuming a color name identifies a different mechanism.
The power swing can be turned to change the selected travel direction between front-to-back and side-to-side. Joie's product page says to rotate the seat by 90 degrees to switch directions; the manual describes rotation through 180 degrees and three locked positions. Neither source describes both directions running at once, so think of this as selectable orientation, not a promise of simultaneous multi-axis motion. The unit offers six swing speeds, three reclines, an on-unit control panel, five songs, five nature sounds, two vibration levels and a dimmable night light. Joie's manual says that light switches off automatically after six minutes.
Space and power are real tradeoffs
The assembled swing is listed at 36 inches long, 28.7 inches wide and 32 inches high, with a product weight of about 24.3 pounds. The listed body is wider and deeper than compact single-direction choices; it needs a clear floor area beyond its static footprint for caregiver access and movement. Do not infer a fold size from the detachable rocker. The page does not establish a folded footprint.
Miso includes an AC adapter, and the manual also supports swing operation on four disposable D alkaline cells. Those cells are not included and the adapter does not recharge them. A separate one-D-cell feature powers vibration on the detached rocker; that is not a battery-powered swing plan. Check whether the plug-in setup is practical near the intended floor space, and route the cord where a child cannot reach it. If you prefer batteries, budget for the four D cells and follow the manual's storage and replacement directions.
The swing and rocker have different fit windows
For swing use, Joie lists birth to 25 pounds and 30 inches. The manual requires stopping at the first of 25 pounds, 30 inches or an attempt to climb out; the approximate nine-month age is only a reference. The detachable rocker has its own lower limit: birth to 20 pounds and 27 inches, stopping when the child begins trying to sit up, whichever comes first. It is easy to overlook this difference when the same seat moves between the two setups.
The manual instructs caregivers to keep the swing fully reclined until a baby is at least four months old and can hold their head up without help. Always use the restraint, keep the unit on the floor, stay nearby and move a sleeping baby to a firm, flat sleep surface. Joie says the seat is not for sleep or unsupervised use. The swing base must not be moved or lifted while the child is in the seat, and the detached rocker should not sit on a table, sofa, bed or shopping cart.
Washable support is not proof about every textile
Joie's product page says the infant support can be machine-washed. The U.S. manual separately refers owners to the care tags for the seat pad and infant insert, prohibits tumble drying and bleach, and does not establish a machine-wash method for the complete seat pad. If a fully washable seat cover is a hard requirement, inspect the tag of the exact unit before relying on the support claim. The frame and plastics have a separate spot-cleaning instruction; that should not be transferred to the textiles.
There is also a source discrepancy worth keeping visible: the exact product page lists the detached rocker at 25 × 20.5 × 22 inches, while Joie's support article gives 25 × 28.7 × 22 inches. The overall swing dimensions agree at 36 × 28.7 × 32 inches, so this assessment uses that corroborated full-unit footprint and does not use the conflicting detached-rocker width for space matching. Ask Joie to confirm the rocker-only dimension if that smaller setup is central to your decision.
Who should compare it, and what to check
Miso suits a household that wants an outlet-powered or battery-powered six-speed swing, selectable direction, lighting and sound, and a detachable rocker. Its 28.7-inch width is a meaningful constraint for a narrow room. Compared with the Joie cinnamon W1604BB, Miso has a wider, deeper assembled body and its page does not describe combined front/back and side/side gliding; Cinnamon instead has a lower listed width and more motion directions. Neither model's insert-only wash language confirms a machine-wash method for the full seat pad. For an unpowered routine, the Joie Ancho is a different spring-wound product, not another motor swing.
Before choosing, confirm the W1306AF label, the correct manual revision, the included adapter and support pieces, and the current seller's package details. Measure the whole body and a safe motion zone, verify fabric care from the sewn tag, and check recall information for the exact manufacture date if buying used. The active product page may not reflect current stock; this review makes no availability, price or seller promise and is not a recall clearance for an individual unit.
