Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Is the Kori an automatic baby swing?
No. The exact BN108 page documents caregiver- or infant-driven rocking and a separate stationary position, not motorized motion, swing speeds, battery operation or an outlet option.
Explore this need in the finder →What supports newborn use, and what is not specified?
The manufacturer page includes a removable newborn inlay and describes newborn use, but the current BN108 instructions do not list a minimum child weight. The manual requires snug restraint, floor-only placement and supervised awake use, and says to stop when the baby tries to sit up or reaches 20 lb, whichever comes first.
Explore this need in the finder →Which Kori textile can be machine-washed?
The 2025 manual's care illustration gives the removable pad a gentle 30°C machine wash, while the newborn inlay is hand-washed and the main seat assembly is spot-cleaned. Follow the exact component's care marks rather than treating the complete seat as machine-washable.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the fold-flat page claim establish room fit?
No numeric assembled or folded dimensions are published in the reviewed exact sources. Ask for the current measurements; a flat-fold description does not give a width/depth threshold or the clearance needed for use.
Explore this need in the finder →Identity: one BN108 rocker, with six listed finishes
This review covers the U.S. Maxi-Cosi Kori 2-in-1 Rocker, manufacturer model BN108, in Classic Graphite - EcoCare, SKU BN108HCR. The official U.S. product page lists six BN108 finish SKUs: Classic Truffle BN108HNY, Classic Graphite BN108HCR, Classic Oat BN108HCOA, Classic Green BN108HBG, Classic Slate BN108HCS and Classic Latte BN108HNX. The manufacturer page and linked manual identify the same BN108 product; the reviewed sources disclose no change in function among these color/fabric options. The small gallery below shows each exact official variant image so a color choice is not represented by an unrelated sibling photo. Screen and room lighting can change how a fabric shade appears.

Manual rocking rather than an automatic swing
The “2-in-1” description refers to a manual rocking setting and a stationary seat setting. There is no motor, swing-speed selector, battery compartment or outlet adapter in the exact BN108 material reviewed here. A caregiver or the infant supplies the rocking movement; the stationary position is the other use mode. This distinction matters in a baby-swing comparison: Kori can be a compact place to rock an awake infant, but it cannot provide powered movement while a caregiver is occupied elsewhere. It also does not qualify for a powered-swing or battery-swing requirement just because it appears in a swings-and-rockers catalog.
The maker lists three recline positions and says the recline can be adjusted with one hand. Its flat fold is useful for storing or moving the empty frame, and the page describes it as lightweight. Those are not a published footprint or a transport weight, however. The reviewed exact sources give no assembled width, depth, folded dimensions or numeric product weight; “folds flat” and “lightweight” should not be treated as a room measurement or an airline-carry claim. The instruction manual says to unfold the product completely and engage its locks before placing a child in it, and never to fold it with an infant in the seat.
Newborn inlay and a firm stop at the first limit
The product page describes a removable newborn inlay, so the maker presents BN108 as supporting newborn use. The current linked instructions do not state a minimum child weight or a separate minimum age. They identify the rocker as designed for a child weighing less than 20 lb and require use to stop when the baby starts trying to sit up or reaches the manufacturer’s 20 lb maximum, whichever happens first. A 20 lb capacity filter is therefore a listing boundary, not permission to keep using the rocker at 20 lb. The instructions also require a snug restraint, floor placement, nearby awake supervision and no sleep or nap use. Do not use the seat on a bed, sofa, cushion or other soft surface, or on an elevated surface. If a child falls asleep, move them to a firm, flat sleep space rather than treating the rocker as a sleep surface.
The same manual safety rules apply in the stationary setting; switching off the rocking action does not turn the seat into a crib, car seat or unattended safe place. It also says never to lift or carry a baby inside the rocker. This is a short-use infant seat whose stop point can arrive because of posture before its listed weight ceiling.
Care is component-specific
Machine-wash language needs a closer read than the product-page shorthand that fabrics can be removed. The 2025 BN108 manual illustration distinguishes the seat assembly, the removable seat pad and the newborn inlay: it shows spot-clean care for the main seat assembly, a gentle 30°C machine-wash method for the removable pad, and hand washing for the newborn insert. Follow the care symbols for the exact part rather than putting every soft component into the same cycle. The separately sold/bonus parts in the VB019KORI package are another configuration; their exact bundle page says the extra pad and liner are machine-washable, but that does not override the base rocker manual’s part-by-part directions.
Who should compare it, and what to verify
BN108 is most relevant to a household that wants a manually rocked, fold-flat infant seat with a stationary option and a removable newborn inlay, and does not need a powered cycle. Its tradeoffs are the absence of motorized motion, numeric footprint and product-weight data, a documented minimum infant weight, and one universal wash method for all of the textiles. For a powered swing, a model with a separate motorized plan is the better category to investigate; for a strict small-room fit, ask the manufacturer for exact body and folded dimensions instead of inferring them from the product image.
Before choosing an offer, match the frame label to BN108 and the selected finish SKU; the finish names are similar but the exact color and photo should agree. Confirm that the removable newborn inlay, restraint system and every required frame piece are present and undamaged, then use the current BN108 instructions for assembly, recline, washing and stop rules. The official Kori product page and its linked Kori user guide are the sources for this assessment. This is a comparison of manufacturer-published evidence, not hands-on testing, ownership or a promise that a particular infant will like the motion.
